Mark Rylance is an English actor known for his work in film, television and theatre. Rylance started his career with the Royal Shakespeare Company acting in numerous productions of William Shakespeare 's work such as The Tempest (1982), A Midsummer Night's Dream (1986), Hamlet (1989), and Romeo and Juliet (1989).
On television, Rylance won the British Academy Television Award for Best Actor for his role as David Kelly in the 2005 Channel 4 drama The Government Inspector and for playing Thomas Cromwell in the 2015 BBC Two mini-series Wolf Hall; for the latter role, he also received Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award nominations.
