    • Esiason was the NFL MVP during the Bengals’ Super Bowl season of 1988. Esiason was the Most Valuable Player for the NFL in the 1988 season when he threw for 3,572 yards and a career-high 28 touchdowns.
    • Esiason was a star quarterback at Maryland. The University of Maryland was the only college to offer Esiason a scholarship. Once he got there, he set 17 school records.
