Darton State College provided educational opportunities and services to Southwest Georgia with a variety of programs, including three bachelors of science and one bachelor of arts degree, four associate degrees, 10 career associate degrees and 15 certificates.
Nov 11, 2005 · Darton State College, established in April 1963 as Albany Junior College, is a four-year college of the University System of Georgia. It has grown from an enrollment of 620 students in 1966, its first year of operation, to 6,097 students in 2011.
May 2, 2016 · Overview. Upon the recommendation of University System of Georgia Chancellor Hank Huckaby, the Georgia Board of Regents voted Tuesday, November 10, 2015, to consolidate Albany State University (ASU) and Darton State College (DSC).

Jan 9, 2017 · The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia granted final approval Dec. 9 for the creation of the new Albany State University from the consolidation of Albany State University and Darton State College.
