The Municipality of Sveti Jurij ob Ščavnici ( pronounced [ˈsʋeːti ˈjuːɾii̯ ɔp ˈʃtʃaːu̯nitsi]; Slovene: Občina Sveti Jurij ob Ščavnici) is a municipality in the traditional region of Styria in northeastern Slovenia. The seat of the municipality is the town of Sveti Jurij ob Ščavnici.
Sveti Jurij ob Ščavnici ( pronounced [ˈsʋeːti ˈjuːɾii̯ ɔp ˈʃtʃaːu̯nitsi]; German: St. Georgen an der Stainz) is a settlement in northeastern Slovenia. It is the seat of the Municipality of Sveti Jurij ob Ščavnici. It lies on the Ščavnica River in the region known as Prlekija.
In the middle of 2022 about 2,810 people (about 1,410 men and 1,400 women) were living in the municipality, which ranks Sveti Jurij ob Ščavnici 160 th among Slovene municipalities. The population density was 55 people per square kilometre, which was lower than the national average of 104 people per square kilometre.
Stara Gora ( pronounced [ˈstaːɾa ˈɡɔːɾa]) is a small settlement in the Municipality of Sveti Jurij ob Ščavnici in northeastern Slovenia. It lies on a small hill just south of the Ščavnica Valley. The area is part of the traditional region of Styria and is now included in the Mura Statistical Region. [2]
