Yolo County Historical Museum, a non-profit, was appointed to operate the Gibson House and Property until 2018. Historic Mansion. Starting in 1857 with the purchase of 160 acres of land and a 16ft by 20ft wooden farm house, William Byas Gibson started expanding not only his farming and ranching business but also his homestead.
The Gibson House (also known as the Yolo County Historical Collection, YCHC, the Gibson Mansion, or the Gibson Museum) is a historic house that now serves as a museum in Woodland, California. It exemplifies several architectural styles, including Georgian Revival, Italianate and Neoclassical.
