Maid to Order is a 1987 American comedy/fantasy film. It is a variation on the Cinderella formula, where the fairy godmother is not the means to a better life for the heroine, but rather the nemesis. Rather than doing so out of malice, though, the fairy godmother hopes to teach the heroine that life has more of importance than financial security.

The reckless Jessica Montgomery is the spoiled daughter of the wealthy millionaire Charles Montgomery, who dedicates his life to philanthropy. In order to compensate the absence of her mother, her father gave everything money can afford, but Jessie has a total lack of character.
In the kitchen, Sheedy sweats and complains and learns a few of the ropes from the black cook and the Latino maid. They don't know what to make of her but they take pity, and there are some moments of heartfelt confession when Sheedy realizes she has been a bitch all of her life.

In this Cinderella-in-reverse, a rich, bored and spoiled brat becomes a maid for an obnoxious Beverly Hills couple. She learns a lesson about herself, about friendship and love and humanity from the other servants and falls for the handsome young chauffeur.
