Blue Eyes of the Broken Doll is a decent enough Spanish Giallo with enough twists and turns in the plot to make it reasonably entertaining. The biggest problem, however, is that it lacks the style I usually associate with the genre.

Blue Eyes of the Broken Doll (1974) film review. 7/10. Honestly I did not remember I'd watched this film before until the very end so I guess that tells you how memorable it is. Nonetheless, it is a genuinely good film.

Blue Eyes of the Broken Doll (Spanish: Los ojos azules de la muñeca rota) is a 1973 Spanish horror - giallo film directed by Carlos Aured and starring Paul Naschy (who also wrote the film), Diana Lorys, Maria Perschy, and Eva Leon. The film was shown theatrically in Spain in August 1974 as Los Ojos Azules de la Muñeca Rota.

sakana1’s review published on Letterboxd: Mild spoilers in the second-to-last paragraph. While I'm fairly certain the main concerns of Blue Eyes of the Broken Doll are blood, sharp instruments, and hot chicks, it also engages very consistently with isolation, and the reality of suffering alone.
