At the age of 40, Alfonso (Ugo Tognazzi) marries Regina (Marina Vlady), a beautiful young woman determined to have a child as soon as possible. Despite artificial stimulation from hormone shots, Alfonso soon finds himself exhausted by his much younger wife's constant demands for sex.
