POLA MUSEUM. Reverberations resound through a forest of art. Our museum was designed to blend into a national park in Hakone. Here, untouched nature stands side-by-side with handmade creations. The two become one, as time passes in a quiet and dignified manner. You’ll find Monet, Picasso, and Foujita alongside contemporary artists.

Pola Museum of Art (ポーラ美術館, Pōra Bijutsukan) is located in Hakone, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. It opened in September 2002 within Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park. It houses the collection of over 9,500 works acquired by the former head of the Pola cosmetics group, including many works of French Impressionism and of the École de Paris.
Pola Museum of Art is a modern art museum in a national park in Hakone, Japan, with a collection of Western and Japanese paintings, ceramics, and cosmetic utensils. The museum blends with the nature and features a Nature Trail with outdoor sculptures.
The Pola Museum has some of the finest works by known artists such as Monet and Matisse I have ever seen. It far outshines the Peggy Guggenheim museum in Venice. Leave time to stroll the nature paths surrounding the museum.
