Barbara Stanisława Trzetrzelewska[4] (Polish: [ˈbaɕa tʂɛtʂɛˈlɛfska] ⓘ, born 30 September 1954), better known by the mononym Basia, is a Polish singer-songwriter and recording artist noted for her Latin-inspired jazz-pop music.

Basia had worked alongside keyboard player and songwriter Danny White to make Time and Tide. The pair had effectively been two thirds of the latin infused British jazz-pop outfit Matt Bianco (Mark Reilly being the other key member of that band).
Time and Tide is the debut studio album by Polish singer-songwriter Basia, released by Epic Records in 1987. The album includes the hit singles "Promises", "New Day for You", and the title track.
