Harald V (Norwegian: Harald den femte, Norwegian pronunciation: [ˈhɑ̂rːɑɫ dɛn ˈfɛ̂mtə]; born 21 February 1937) is King of Norway. He succeeded to the throne on 17 January 1991. Harald was the third child and only son of King Olav V of Norway and Princess Märtha of Sweden.
Harald V (born February 21, 1937, Skaugum, Norway) is the king of Norway from 1991, succeeding his father, Olav V. Harald was the youngest of three children born to Olav and Crown Princess Märtha. However, as the only son, he became crown prince when his father assumed the throne in 1957.
