    The second season of RuPaul's Secret Celebrity Drag Race was confirmed on August 23, 2021, along with the fourteenth season of RuPaul's Drag Race and its Untucked. In this spin-off, celebrities team with with Drag Race alumni who mentor them and help them undergo a drag transformation in the hopes of becoming “America’s Next Celeb Drag Superstar.”

    On July 17, 2022, it was announced that the season would premiere on August 12, 2022, featuring nine celebrities competing for the title of America's Next Celeb Drag Superstar and $100,000 for a charity of their choice. Unlike the first season, celebrities will only have their identities revealed after their eliminations. Brooke Lynn Hytes, Jujubee, and Monét X Change will serve as Queen Supreme Mentors, with guest appearances of other alumni, such as Eureka!, Gottmik, Katya, Morgan McMichaels, Silky Nutmeg Ganache, and Violet Chachki.
