Trevor Hale is an attractive, sarcastic and irreverent man who claims to be Cupid, the Roman god of love, and has descended from Mount Olympus to work on Earth. He tells psychiatrist Claire Allen that he was sentenced to Earth to "do time," and his mission is to unite 100 couples without using any godlike powers. Dr. Allen, who does not believe in Cupid, risks her career by releasing Trevor from the mental hospital so he can try to achieve his goal.
