Caridad tries to keep from snitching so she won't be targeted by the Yankee Rebels, and says that Stilman is just as scared of them as she is. When Stilman is finally forced to testify, he resorts to Loophole Abuse to keep from telling the truth, even saying that he killed Tommy while on the stand.
