Padmé Amidala (née Naberrie) is a character in the Star Wars franchise created by George Lucas. She first appears in The Phantom Menace as the teenage queen of the fictional planet Naboo. After her reign, she becomes a member of the Galactic Senate.
Natalie Portman (born Neta-Lee Hershlag [4] on June 9, 1981 [1]) portrayed Padmé Amidala in the prequel trilogy. She adopted "Portman" as her stage name in order to protect her family's identity.
She reprised her role as Padme Amidala in the last two episodes of the Star Wars prequel trilogy: Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002) and Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005). She received an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in Black Swan (2010).
