About. The Salem Witch Museum, founded in 1972, offers two historical presentations. The first tells the tragic story of the 1692 witch trials and takes place in a large auditorium with life-sized stage sets which are illuminated and dramatically narrated to immerse visitors in the world of 17th-century Salem.
This museum is a “Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean meets Salem Witch Trials” production. It is not a museum. The term museum allows you to think that you will see documents and historical memorabilia relating to the witch trials. This is a repeat of the events that led to the trials.
