We catch some of the finest freshwater fish on the planet – delicate in flavor, firm of flesh, and rich in nutrients. These aren’t hatchery or pen-raised fish; each is wild caught from self-sustaining fish stocks jointly managed by tribal and state biologists.
The Red Cliff Fish Company opened its doors on November 4, 2020, in Bayfield, Wisconsin. The Anishinaabe-owned fish processor and seller focuses on providing Lake Superior fish to customers and supporting fair-trade practices.
For the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, fishing goes beyond commerce and cuisine. Fishing the pristine waters of Anishinaabewi Gichigami–Lake Superior–surrounding the Apostle Islands has been a way of life for the Tribe and its ancestors since time immemorial.
The Red Cliff Reservation extends along the tip of the Bayfield Peninsula, spanning 22 miles of Lake Superior shoreline in northern Wisconsin. Tribal offices and businesses, including the Red Cliff Fish Company, are located in the village of Red Cliff, three miles north of Bayfield, Wisconsin, near the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore.

It is operated by the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa with the goals of supporting tribal fishers and strengthening the food sovereignty of Native American tribes throughout the Upper Midwest.
