I think season 3 was good but I'll admit that Steve Marmel was a source of a lot of Danny Phantom's awesomeness, and it was a real shame he left after season 2. I'd love to see him return to work on the show if it ever made a comeback.

Answer: Well to start, Butch Hartman's (the creator's) right hand man (Steve Marmel) stopped working on the show. Marmel had always pushed for darker themes on the show, and without him, season 3 just felt different.
There are some absolutely genuine masterpieces in the series, like "Ultimate Enemy", "Public Enemies" and "My Brother's Keeper" but all in all, I don't think "Danny Phantom" needs a revival. I think it needs a reboot, similar to the modern "Ducktales." The concept is still incredible, but it needs a more modern team.
