No changes to the cast were made during this season although it should be noted that sometime during filming of NCIS Season 4, reports of a feud between NCIS creator/showrunner Donald P. Bellisario and Mark Harmon (Leroy Jethro Gibbs) began to emerge, the feud occurring due to Harmon having a disagreement with Bellisario's "chaotic management style" which had Harmon threatening to leave the NCIS show for good. Eventually, Bellisario stepped down while co-executive producer Chas Floyd Johnson and head writer Shane Brennan replaced Bellisario.
