Jan 12, 2022 · On January 1, 2022, the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service’s National Bioengineered Food Disclosure Law went into effect, requiring food manufacturers, importers, and retailers in the U.S. to comply with a new national labeling standard for food that has been bioengineered or that contains bioengineered ingredients.
Companies have several options available for disclosure, including text, symbol (see above), electronic or digital link (such as QR codes), and/or text message.
