They try to protect this information and rather you discover users by profile simularities. On saying that, we understand you sometimes need to find someone, specifically (such as checking if your husband is on here!).

Finding a profile on POF — is it feasible? On the “finding-dating-app-profiles scale of frustration”, POF profiles would be right there at the bottom when compared to other existing platforms.
- Private Search or Not. Upon logging in and creating a profile, you need to determine if you want the person you’re looking for to find you in return.
- How to Perform a POF Search via Basic Search and Advanced Search. NOTE: To perform these types of searches on the POF website, you will need to upgrade your membership on your dating profile.
- My Matches. Click the light blue POF button at the top left of the screen. Click on “My Matches” and select the age range and distance. My Matches is more of a passive search, as users will be matched to you, immediately and over time.
- Search By Location. Click the light blue POF button at the top left of the screen. If you haven’t had luck with the previous searches and live in the same city as the person and profile you’re looking for, another passive search is to enter distance and location information on the “My City” selection.

- Basic and Advanced Searches. Not all POF users can make use of this feature, but the investment can be worth it if you’re really in a jam. Basic Search.
- The “My Matches” Search. If you click on the POF logo on the top left of your screen, you can activate “my matches.” This will keep matching you with suitable profiles over time.
- Activate “My City” If you’re not having much luck finding someone on POF, you can activate the “my city” option in your location settings. It will narrow your search down a bit.
