The 4th Baron Fermoy. Baron Fermoy is a title in the Peerage of Ireland. The title was created by Queen Victoria by letters patent of 10 September 1856 for Edmond Roche. Previous letters patent had been issued on 14 May 1855 which purported to create this barony for Roche, but these were ruled invalid in 1856.
Her musical career was cut short when she met the wealthy and much older Maurice Roche, 4th Baron Fermoy. They married on 17 September 1931 at St. Devenick's Church in Bieldside , Aberdeenshire . Lord and Lady Fermoy had three children, including Frances , who would become the mother of Diana, Princess of Wales .

Roche, Maurice (1597–1670), 3rd Viscount Fermoy , politician, was son and heir of David Roche (qv) and Joan, daughter of James FitzRichard, Viscount Buttevant. Maurice assumed a leading role in provincial politics at an early age, gaining a reputation as an ardent supporter of catholic causes.
