Jan 13, 2011 · BRATISLAVA - CRN, leading international IT trade magazine, has recognized ESET‘s CEO Miroslav Trnka among the most innovative managers in the field of information technology. In the list of 25 executives, Mr. Trnka ranked fourth.
However, its history dates back to 1987, when two of the company's founders, Miroslav Trnka and Peter Paško, developed their first antivirus program called NOD. This sparked an idea between friends to help protect PC users and soon grew into an antivirus software company.
Miroslav Trnka, born in Trnava in 1961, graduated from the Slovak Technical University in Trnava. He has been involved in the development of the NOD antivirus system since 1987, and co-authored its first version.
