Request an absentee ballot online. All registered voters in Michigan can vote before Election Day using what’s called an absent voter (or absentee) ballot. You can vote by absentee ballot through the mail, without leaving your home.

Absentee voting is available starting 40 days before Election Day, and no excuse is required. All voters must apply for an absentee ballot unless they are on the permanent mail ballot list. We encourage voters to submit their applications as soon as possible.
