Dual Electric Fan Assembly features high performance SPAL fans with a steel fan shroud that mounts to original mounting locations. Shroud has six bypass flaps that open at highway speed to allow excess air to flow through and close at low speeds to maximize cooling capacity.

Jan 24, 2019 · Pitman, one of my cars has a Spal electric fan and shroud assembly. It has two rubber flaps mounted on the bottom of the shroud. Many new cars also have rubber flaps on the shrouds. The flaps allow air to enter the engine compartment when you are moving when the fan isn't running. I can't see how it can hurt.
