Plan to spend about one to two hours at the festival. Kids will want plenty of time to run around, investigate all the paths and displays, and, of course, visit Santa. That's enough time to walk through the displays and enjoy the Dancing Lights once or twice, as well as a stop for a warming drink and a snack. Dress appropriately if it's very cold.
VanDusen's Festival of Lights will run from November 30, 2019, through January 5, 2020; however, the garden is closed December 25 and possibly in heavy snow, wind, or other inclement weather conditions. Buying tickets in advance is highly recommended and will save you money. There are limited tickets online and at the gate.
Where and When. The Festival of Lights takes place at VanDusen Botanical Garden which is located at 5151 Oak Street in Vancouver. Its main parking lot is just off West 37th Avenue. There is usually street parking along Oak and nearby side streets. The event ran from November 24th in 2023 until January 7th in 2024.
Oct 27, 2023 · This year, the VanDusen Festival of Lights will open on Nov. 24, 2023, and run until Jan. 7, 2024. Tickets for the holiday spectacle will be available starting Nov. 1 and must be purchased in advance online. Tickets will not be sold on-site. Festival hours are from 4 to 10 p.m. with the last entry time between 8:30 and 9 p.m.
