  2. Symphonic Power Metal bands? I'm searching for more bands in this subgenre. I've listened to Rhapsody (+ its siblings), Dark Moor's Gates of Oblivion and Twilight Force. I also greatly enjoyed Ride with the Sun by Fairyland, though I haven't listened to the rest of the album yet.

Incredible and unique work on lyrics, symphonies and growl insertion; Nightwish: I practically discovered metal with this band when I was only 8 years old.

Not what you’re asking but nocturnal rites kind of reminds me of Pantera since Pantera started off as a hair band and then transitioned to groove metal. Nocturnal Rites started off as a death metal band and then transitioned into power metal.
