Nov 3, 2023 · Mike founded DMA Design (Rockstar North) in 1989 along side 3 of his friends, Steve Hammond, Russell Kay and David Jones, where they went and released a puzzle Strategy game called Lemmings. Mike was known for creating the game engine that the first Grand Theft Auto title ran on.

Rockstar North Limited (formerly known as DMA Design Limited) is a British video game developer and a developer of computer and video games based and located in Edinburgh, Scotland, best known for creating the Grand Theft Auto and Lemmings franchises in its earlier guise as DMA. The company is a part of Rockstar Games which is owned by Take Two Interactive.
It is the main developer of the Grand Theft Auto series, including Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, and Grand Theft Auto V , which are some of the best-selling games of this console generation; in its earlier guise as DMA, it was responsible for originating the monumentally successful Lemmings franchise. More recently, it is the developer of Grand Theft Auto V. Rockstar North is Rockstar Games' most experienced production company, with a total of 33 games produced under the DMA Design or Rockstar North banner.
With Rockstar games confirmed a new entry in the Grand Theft auto series is in active development, Rockstar North would obviously be working on the next entry.
