Darkbloom is a split EP by Canadian musicians Grimes and d'Eon. It was released on April 18, 2011, as a joint release through Grimes' and d'Eon's respective labels, Arbutus Records and Hippos in Tanks. Darkbloom was conceived together by Grimes and d'Eon but recorded separately.
Grimes created the first 5 tracks by herself and then d'Eon added his tracks. That's why you can find Darkbloom on streaming services like Apple and Spotify where it's just her credited as the artist, with only her songs. Honestly not much would have changed if d'Eon hadn't added his tracks.
This split EP pairs tracks from two Montreal artists: the ghostly avant-pop project Grimes and the more literate singer-songwriter d'Eon.
Darkbloom is the first studio extended play, first collaboration and overall third album released by Grimes that was originally a split album with fellow Canadian musician d'Eon. Grimes does not own the rights to Darkbloom , and as a result she does not make any money from the the EP in any form.
