Prime Minister Golda Meir and her new 22-member coalition Cabinet, including Moshe Dayan as defense minister, were sworn in as the government of Israel. Meir announced the formation of the majority coalition on March 6 after a nine-week government crisis and threats by Dayan that he would resign in response to severe public criticism of the role he allegedly played in the October 1973 war.
