I’ve always viewed that the specific story beats of Doomsday Clock are in an alternate future, but the main effects of the story are in continuity. Issue 12 has Doc Manhattan “fix” the timeline, so I imagine at that point most things play out like they did in the DCU 2017-2019.
Reading order is Watchmen then Flashpoint then DC Rebirth then Batman/Flash the Button then Doomsday Clock. It's better to have read Watchmen yes. The Button is in fact quite dispensable for Doomsday Clock, but important for the Batman rebirth run by Tom King.
