With an eight-year run, Adventure Time is the fourth longest-running series on Cartoon Network, and at 283 produced episodes, is surpassed only by the Ben 10 franchise and Teen Titans Go! in episode count.

Three television series make up the Adventure Time franchise: Adventure Time, Distant Lands, and Fionna and Cake. All series in total amount to 297 episodes across 12 seasons of television.
Both the series and original short features the adventures of two best friends: Jake the Dog and Finn the Human. Their adventures are nonsensical, crazy, and bear more resemblance to a group of kids playing with action figures than a coherent story... which is probably why it's so much dang fun.
Alternate Continuity: The Adventure Time comics are set in their own continuity and don't factor into the show, according to Word of God. Altum Videtur: "Morituri Te Salutamus" (" We who are about to die salute you ") is this trope incarnate.

Jul 26, 2023 · Apparently was alive at the time of the apocalyptic 'mushroom war'. Subject to a lot of fan "attention", for whatever reason; became extremely popular while only appearing twice in the first season, not counting the opening credits and brief cameos.
Adventure Time has received universal acclaim from critics, with much praise for its originality and worldbuilding. The show won eight Primetime Emmy Awards, a Peabody Award, three Annie Awards, two British Academy Children's Awards, a Motion Picture Sound Editors Award, and a Kerrang! Award.
