Anne Reid (born 28 May 1935) is an English actress who played Valerie Barlow from 1961 to 1971. Time on Coronation Street. Anne joined the show in 1961, with Valerie making her first appearance in August 1961.
Her first work in television involved sketches with Benny Hill but gave up acting in 1974 before returning in 1986 eventually making her name in the part of Valerie Barlow in the television soap Coronation Street.
