Deacon Elie was born in Zahle, Lebanon to his parents, Spiridon and Rouviette Hanna, who emigrated from Lebanon in 1967 when he was about 1 years old. He has been a practicing Melkite Catholic all his life and grew up in the St. Joseph Melkite parish of Akron, OH. He currently works full-time in the Healthcare Information Technology industry.
Here in America, our parish is part of the Eparchy of Newton, and our Bishop is Francois Beyrouti. Our liturgical languages are Greek and Arabic, but the majority of our liturgy is in English at our parish here in Akron, OH. Learn more about the Melkite Catholic Church at melkite.org.

We are a parish community of the Melkite Eparchy of Newton in the U.S. We are joined to the Melkite Greek Catholic Patriarchate of Antioch, an Apostolic Church.
