"French Ending" is the seventh episode of Season 1, and the seventh episode overall.

Emily is walking to work when she sees Sylvie through a shop window and taps on the glass to wave hello. They walk to work together, with Sylvie letting it slip that she's going away next week on a romantic getaway with Antoine. Emily offers to help lessen her load by organizing the Fourtier account party, but Sylvie isn't a fan of the idea and instead, agrees to let her babysit the American actress wearing the watch - Brooklyn Clark.

While Emily is excited to meet an iconic actress, Julien is a little too happy to hand over Brooklyn's itinerary. He and Luc inform Emily that Brooklyn's films aren't well-received in France as they all have happy endings. They prefer a "french ending" - a realistic end to a relationship or film. An ending where someone dies, loses a limb, or comes out as gay. Emily is an idealist and prefers happy endings.

She goes to the hotel to meet Brooklyn, but the hotel clerk feigns that no one with her name is reserved there. Brooklyn appears from behind Emily and informs her that she is under an alias to help keep her safe. They go upstairs where Brooklyn's partying antics and careless nature becomes evident. Brooklyn isn't excited about the Fourtier party and doesn't want to wear another jumper or dumb dress, so Emily offers to use her connection with Pierre Cadault to get her a dress.

That night, Emily joins Mindy and Camille for dinner at Les Deux Compères, and invites them to the Fourtier launch party the next night. The women can't make it but Gabriel is available so he agrees to attend. Camille lets it slip that Gabriel's boss has finally agreed to sell him the restaurant, but Gabriel reminds her that the down payment is too expensive. The tension between them rises when she brings up her parents being willing to float him the money to purchase the restaurant. He leaves under the pretenses that he has to get back to work. Camille looks to the women for advice and they try to give her decent advice, but the tension is still evident.

The following day, Emily takes Brooklyn to Pierre Cadault's to pick out a dress. While she is looking through the rack, Mathieu Cadault arrives and mistakes Emily for Brooklyn and she exposes his bluff about knowing Brooklyn. They are properly introduced, with Mathieu being the head of business affairs at Pierre Cadault, as well as, his nephew. Mathieu didn't sign off on the deal between Pierre Cadault and Savoir, as he is reluctant about the deal and his Uncle's brand. Emily sways him into giving the company a one-month trial on the contingency that she can snap an inspired photo of Brooklyn in Pierre's dress. Emily accepts the terms and hurries off to help Brooklyn with the perfect dress.

At the party, Emily signs the insurance papers for the two-million euro watch that Brooklyn is wearing. Julien ensures her that she's signing the right thing and wishes her luck when she notices Antoine arrive with his wife, Catherine. Emily tries to warn Sylvie who brushes off the discretion feigning that she knew they were coming together. Emily leaves her alone and finds Gabriel, who Brooklyn finds attractive. When Antoine begins walking over, Emily asks that Gabriel put his arm around her and he obliges when he notices the urgency.
