It did seem odd and like it was a way to skim over the fight and set up the scene where Dean and Luke run into each other outside. Ig Rory’s research on Donna Reed is supposed to be the solution? Rory and Lorelei are both so feminist is seems odd to suddenly embrace the pearls, but they do love camp and a reason to dress up so who knows

Rory doesn’t get that Dean won’t see the evening as celebrating Donna Reed as a trailblazer, he’ll just think his girlfriend apologized for an argument by throwing him his dream dinner party. Ugh it makes my skin crawl. Like and Lorelei planning paint colors, however - ten out of ten content.
