Thu, May 14, 1964. The wife of a Blair kitchen worker is brought to the hospital after collapsing at her apartment. She refuses to undergo exploratory surgery to discover the extent of a tumor, telling Kildare that she knows she is going to die.
Dr. Paul Probeck, a recovering alcoholic himself, decides to start an alcohol rehabilitation program at Blair, with Kildare as one of his assistants. However, one of the men they are treating is highly uncooperative and doesn't even give his name.
