Post card from Palace Depression. Daynor was convinced that an "exact copy" of his Palace would be part of New Jersey's exhibit at the 1939 New York World's Fair. "I will appear at the Palace daily and there will be ten guides to show visitors through. I am proud of the Palace because it is evidence that there need be no depression."
The palace was not forgotten, though. There was even a reference to it in the 1983 movie Eddie and the Cruisers, which was also filmed in South Jersey. In 2006, a rock band called The Cryptkeeper Five named their album Rise of the Palace of Depression. Volunteers in Vineland are restoring the Palace of Depression down to the smallest details.
