The UK version is a little dated, which explains some of the differences. Otherwise the US version focuses mostly on the Gallaghers, while the UK version focuses on the community in general (hence more characters). The first season or two are pretty similar, sometimes even word for word.
Uk version is better by far imo, its grittier, more realistic and less hollywood drama. The characters feel like real people, proper UK council estate scum. For the most part, the acting is a bit better too (though Im only in season 2 of the US version so far). Reply reply. Plague_Doctor77.
Similarly to The Office, the first season is strikingly similar, along with a few episodes of the second of the UK series (US season 1 was twelve episodes while UK series 1 was seven), but then the US takes it in its own unique direction. They do a wonderful job as well, the US is just as much binge fodder as the UK.
