Mike Johnson (politician) James Michael Johnson (born January 30, 1972) is an American politician and lawyer. Since 2023, he has been serving as the 56th speaker of the United States House of Representatives. Before becoming speaker, he has also been serving as the United States representative for Louisiana's 4th congressional district since 2017.
