Aug 20, 2024 · Movie Review. You may be familiar with Garfield, the lovable orange tabby (created by cartoonist Jim Davis) with a hatred for Mondays and penchant for food—especially lasagna. Garfield thinks his life is pretty good. He was adopted off the street by Jon when he was just a kitten.
Parents need to know that Garfield is a live-action/animated hybrid comedy in which Bill Murray voices an animated version of the legendary comic book cat. There's a ton of product placement in the movie—at least 10 different products are either mentioned by name, gratuitously placed in scenes, or, in the case of Wendy's and Walmart, outright advertised on a television.
The Garfield Movie premiered at Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles on May 19, 2024, and was released in the United States by Columbia Pictures through Sony Pictures Releasing on May 24, 2024. It received negative reviews and grossed $257 million worldwide against a $60 million budget. A sequel is reportedly in development. [6]

May 27, 2024 · the-garfield-movie-is-cute-but-couldve-been-much-more-review While The Garfield Movie is visually cute with a decent premise, it doesn't work nearly as well as it should. Longtime fans of Garfield will be disappointed, though young kids will definitely have fun with this story.
