- Vancouver. Before venturing out on the Sea-to-Sky Highway, Dave and I take a spin in our luxury rental around Vancouver. We start at Stanley Park and take a walk along the seawall for some of the best views of the Vancouver skyline.
- Squamish. Our first stop outside Vancouver takes us to the town of Squamish. The self-proclaimed “Adventure Capital of Canada” offers world-class rock climbing, kite surfing, and backcountry hiking.
- Waterfalls. As we venture along the Sea-to-Sky Highway, we are treated to one stop after another that offers hiking, waterfall views and locations important to indigenous traditions.
- Train Wreck Trails. As we approach Whistler, we stop at the famous Train Wreck Trail at Cheakamus Crossing. This short hike takes us across a scenic suspension bridge before arriving at the site of a 1956 train derailment.
The Sea to Sky region stretches from the North Shore up the east side of Howe Sound to Squamish, the gateway to British Columbia's magnificent alpine country of forests, lakes, and year round world class outdoor activities.
The route features towering rock faces that plunge to the sea and rivers cascading in bubbly plumes off the sheer cliff. The intense blue colours of Howe Sound clash with brilliant white glacier ice and jagged black peaks against an azure sky.
