Jun 26, 2011 · From the outset, the outspoken Adrienne was Colan’s biggest advocate, and she soon convinced him he had to quit his job and get back into comics. “She said to me ‘You’ve got to get out of here,’ so easy like that,” Colan later recalled. “‘To work without artistic challenge will destroy your soul, your passion for life,’ she said.
In 2010, Colan separated from his second wife, Adrienne, after an incident where she seriously injured his shoulder. She died later that same year. Afterward, Colan's children attended to their father's well-being as the artist continued to cope with failing health.
