Jul 16, 2024 · Ron Slate is a Massachusetts-based poet who has published two books of poems, The Incentive of the Maggot and The Great Wave, and a memoir, About The House, with his daughter Jenny Slate. He also edits a poetry magazine, The Chowder Review, and serves on the board of Mass Humanities.
Ron Slate was born in Quincy, Massachusetts, and earned an MA in creative writing from Stanford University in 1973. His collections of poetry include The Great Wave (2009) and The Incentive of the Maggot (2005), chosen by poet Robert Pinsky for the Bakeless Poetry Prize and winner of the Larry Levis Reading Prize from Virginia Commonwealth ...

BIO: Ron Slate was born in Quincy, Massachusetts in 1950. He earned his Masters degree in creative writing from Stanford University in 1973 and did his doctoral work in American literature at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
