Students must specialize in one of eight areas: Criminology and Deviance, Criminal Law and Procedure, Police Administration, Correction Administration, Computer Applications in Criminal Justice, Study of Drug and Alcohol Abuse, Investigative Techniques, or Juvenile Justice.

The John Jay College of Criminal Justice (John Jay) is a public college focused on criminal justice and located in New York City. It is a senior college of the City University of New York (CUNY). John Jay was founded as the only liberal arts college with a criminal justice and forensic focus in the United States.

In 1963, he became an Officer with the Stamford Police Department. He received nine citations for excellent police duty. He attended the John Jay College of Criminal Law; the Arnold Markle State 's Attorney's School for Command Officers; the Narcotic School of New Orleans, Louisiana; and the Norwalk Community College.
