She made her feature directorial debut with the sports drama film Girlfight (2000), [2] [3] for which she won Best Director and the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival and was nominated for the Independent Spirit Award for Best First Feature .
Karyn Kusama is an American filmmaker who has directed and produced movies and TV shows such as The Invitation, Destroyer, Girlfight and Yellowjackets. She was born in Brooklyn, New York, and is married to Phil Hay, a screenwriter and her frequent collaborator.
