Just You and Me, Kid (1979) "Just You and Me, Kid" is a charming disappointment. The charm is supplied, with grace and a wonderfully lovable quality, by George Burns. The disappointment is in the movie that surrounds him. It doesn't have the edge it needs. It moves inexorably toward sentimentality.

'Just You and Me, Kid' is a poorly written, unimaginative and tonally muddled film that tries in vain to balance drama and light comedy. Leonard Stern's direction is uninspired- in fact, he doesn't seem to have directed the actors at all.
