Open daily from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM Closed at 2 PM on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. Closed entirely on New Year’s Day, Easter, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the week of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
We have a suggested donation of $10/person. Any contribution you can provide is greatly appreciated. We accept cash, credit, and Venmo donations at the Museum.
The Erie Canal Museum is set up for a self-guided experience. However, we often have docents available to guide guests through the Museum. If you are interested, inquire at the front desk about docent availability when you arrive. The Erie Canal Museum is dedicated to preserving and showcasing the 1850 National Register Weighlock Building, the last remaining structure of its kind, and to telling the incredible adventure story of the Erie Canal.
