Randy Ciarlante is an American musician who frequently played with The Band. He joined The Band in 1990, singing harmony and playing drums. He played and sang on their albums from the 1990s, including Jericho, High on the Hog and Jubilation.
Aaron Hurwitz and Maria Spinosa had a band called Big Feachers, Randy played with them in the late 70s & 80s. Became a member of Levon Helm & The Woodstock All Stars in 1985. Had a group with Joe Flood and Jimmy Weider, mainly performing Joe Flood material, 1989.

The Weight Band originated inside the barn of Levon Helm Studios in 2013 when Jim Weider and Randy Ciarlante, both former members of The Band, were performing “Songs of The Band” with Garth Hudson, Jimmy Vivino and Byron Isaacs.
Oct 22, 2012 · Randy Ciarlante occupied the second drum chair throughout the Band’s decade-long resurgence in the 1990s, touring with the group and playing on the critically acclaimed albums Jericho, High on the Hog, and Jubilation. Ciarlante was an ideal counterpart to Levon Helm’s drumming and singing, and the interplay between them was wonderful.
Following Helm’s death in 2012, Weider performed a few “Songs of The Band” concerts, which included Vivino, Byron Isaacs, Randy Ciarlante and Garth Hudson. The shows were so well received that Weider started the first version of The Weight Band with Ciarlante, Isaacs, Mitchell, and keyboardist Marty Grebb.
