Sep 9, 2022 · Wolfspeed, the global leader in Silicon Carbide technology, announced it will invest $1.3 billion to expand its production capacity in Chatham County, North Carolina. The facility will produce 200mm wafers for electric vehicles, 5G, renewable energy and other applications, and create 1,800 jobs.
Feb 1, 2023 · Wolfspeed, the global leader in Silicon Carbide technology and production, announced plans to construct a 200mm wafer fabrication facility in Saarland, Germany. The new fab will support growing demand for Silicon Carbide devices in automotive, industrial and energy applications and is part of a $6.5 billion global capacity expansion effort.
